easiest way to sell

I have been making list after list of things to do before i move. The list i am working on right now, is stuff i can sell. I have two cars i am going to junk and one i am trying to sell. I need help trying to figure out the best way to sell smaller items. I have an xbox i want to get rid of, a mini fridge, a surround sound system, an ancient tv, and some other randoms. What is best posting them on craigslist, posting them on ebay, or taking them to the ebay store. I have never really used any of these services to sell anything. I have bought from ebay and only browsed craigslist. So all you internet people, tell me which is best. Or which you think i can get the most money for.

One Year and Twenty days later

i am completely legal on the road again. You do not even know how great this feels. Today i jumped through the last of the hoops on my way to being a road warrior, once again. I got my car registered to my name and got my beautiful new license plate. So now that i am legal, i can really buckle down and get things rolling towards my move. I can run errands i have needed to run, without the nervously checking for cops on my bumper. It is amazing how just a little bit more freedom, in ones life can make a huge difference. Thank you to all my friends and family, for your support in the last year. I have crashed on many a couch, because of not having mobility. I have gotten countless rides from people. That is all over now. Well this was just a short and sweet post. Have a good day.

the ongoing saga, that is me and cars

Today has been extremely fruitful, so far. I have gotten my pay check, and pretty much turned straight around and spent it all on my car. Well it is good that i am spending this money. It has all gone towards being fully legal on the road. I got my emissions test today, and somehow passed. This was a huge relief. Now i just have to go get it titled in my name and get new tags. I cant wait to have this huge burden off my chest. It has been a long time coming to be fully legal. I have to say thank you, thank you, thank you, to my sister Amy and brother in-law Greg for the car. If anyone does not know them, they are the best. My family might be the most loving and caring family in the world. They have patiently watched me mess things up in my life. But there patience with me has shown me how to become better about being patient, and not rushing God.

Well things are starting to take shape. I hope i can really start to save all the money i need to move. This is still the biggest hurdle i have in my way, saving money. I am horrible at this. So prayers are still asked. Prayers for my peace of mind, and patience. God is doing wonderful things in my life right now. I am learning more and more how to let my life fall in line with Gods plan, instead of trying to impose my own will on Gods plan. It is just hard for me, because i hate surprises, and i hate twists in the road. Like most people, i like to be able to see exactly what is ahead of me. But i am learning to face my fears of change. I am learning to overcome obstacles, which i have placed in my way. My life is my fault, and it is morphing more and more into what i need it to be. Well i am off to work now. Going to go stain a deck.

Big and Bad and on the Road again

It is time. This is post number 100. Sorry, no big party, no big layout change, really no big anything. Well that is kind of a lie. Today was the day i got my license back. For those who did not know i lost my license last may because of a horrible judgment error on my part. I got a DUI, no fun at all, especially because i was not even drunk. Not even a little buzzed. But my blood test showed different then my body was reacting. Needless to say, I am a legally licensed driver once again. Watch out mean streets of Chattanooga, here I come. I figured this was big enough news to share with the world on my 100th post. Short and sweet, have a good day.

It has taken way to long to get here

Wow this is post number 99. It was a long way in the making to get to this point. A whole lot of waisted time and waisted words. It is funny to me, i have not done anything on this blog, steadily, for so long. When i finally decide to get back on i am almost at 100. Maybe we should throw a party. That would be great. John Totten would be the only one in attendance. I think he is the only one who checks to see if I have written anything.

I am trying to make myself a cool new design for this blog. I am going to have to get help making it a reality. I have been playing around in photoshop with new banner designs. That is as far as i have gotten so far. We will see. I have drawn up a design on paper. Maybe i just need to get my brother to help me put it on here.

I have just in the recent past started looking on craigslist. I don't quite now how to use it to my benefit. I did post on the Seattle list to find a vet good enough for my dog. I also found a group of people who meet up for good hikes every week. I can't wait to hike in real mountains. Lookout has served its purpose. Being in my back yard my whole life, i have hiked all over it. I used to take off from The nature center ever Sunday and hike to sunset and back. That was fun. Me and my dog love Bear Creek. That place will be missed. It is a rare beauty. Does anyone know if it is closed still? Some of my friends went up there last Friday and they had signs posted saying it was closed.

I am also in the middle of drastically cutting back on my smoking. I said i would quit when i was 25 and i have failed all my attempts so far. I am trying to work on this whole will power thing. I felt so good the week i quit. I can only imagine how great it will feel to quit all together. I only have until August 23 to make the 25 year old deadline. Fingers crossed.

Well i was just stopping in for a minute. I need to get back to planning this move. I am trying to way my options on how to actually get all my crap out there. Right now flying seems to be the best way. I will just have to figure out about pets flying. Also how to get rid of a bunch of stuff. More on this later.

Once again, I am back

Well life is interesting sometimes. After quitting my job a lot of nothing has happened. I have been staying busy. Luckily i have a roomate who owns a business. Most of you who would read this know him. John Simpson has given me an opportunity to stay busy and make a little money. I really appreciate him letting me work for him while i have been going through this transition in my life. But on to the big news. i just want to let the world know I am moving. Chattanooga has been a wonderful home to me for almost 26 years. I dont know anywhere else as home. It has come time for me to up root. I have talked about going back to school for a while. Now is the time to make that a reality. I am heading to Seattle to live in domestic bliss with my dog, Hank, and my brothers from another mother, the Totten boys.(another father as well, we are not related in the least) The plan as it seems now, is to leave Chattanooga on August 16th. The details of moving are just now starting to unfold. The more i think about it the more scared i get, but also the more excited at the same time. It is that time in my life where i am searching for direction, i should have been able to find this a long time ago, but here i go. I am hoping to enroll in the Seattle Art Institute at the beginning of the new year. Industrial/Product design is what i am looking to study. Change is here and now. There really is nothing to it but to do it at this point. So prayer is asked from anyone willing to pray. Prayer for a clear mind and understanding of the road ahead.

Welcome to the unemployed new year

Life is full of change, some is good, some is bad, but most is confusing. I decided to change my life drastically in the end of 2006. I have spent the last 5 years of my life working hard, but with no real goal in mind. I had a great time learning all that i did while working construction. I came in knowing nothing and i leave knowing how to build a house and pretty much everything else in between. So with all this knowledge and skill that i have gained, i drop it to follow a dream.

So with the beginning of the year i am looking for a job. This is a tough place to be for me. I am used to getting up at 6 in the morning eveyday and working 10 hours. I am used to coming home tired and not having any drive to accomplish any other task. I want things to change. i need things to change. I would really love to find some graphic design firm to take me in and teach me the trade. i know that this is a lot to wish for, but it would be awesome. Hopefully i can get a job and find my way back to school. But my biggest task right now is to keep my mind creative and really work on my art.

Well, everyone who happens open this once dead blog, i hope your new year is wonderful. Once i have figured out how to work with photoshop i will be putting up some art work. But in the meantime you are just going to have to read my babble. Until next time. Jonathan

reporting for duty

well i am just checking in to, this dead space on the internet, my blog. just an update for you all. i have been working pretty much non stop for the last few months. oh yeah and i am in a cast from my left elbow to over my wrist. so this is a short post, because, apparently typing in a cast is really hard to accomplish..

good stuff

Well the old 94 buick century might be coming to the end of its glorious days. It has been idleing funny for quite some time, but today it stalled out more then usual. I have gotten pretty good at riding in the right lane so that i can jump into a parking lot when i am coming to a stop light. but today it died in the middle of central avenue. in the turn lane. it was awesome. i got it started and crawled it back to my place. Now i have to figure out what is wrong. and i am no mechanic. if anyone out there, who knows much about cars wants to help be my guest. Or if anyone knows of a cheap truck is let me know. Nothing can beat the deal i got on this car. I paid $200 dollars for it and it lasted over a year. The poor thing gave it all it had.

one time i saw something

It has been a while, like most things, i have fallen out of the habit. I am trying really hard to find habitual reasons to do things in my life. i am finding it very important to a create a plan, short and long term, and stick to it.

I have also come to realize that i am an excuse maker. I shrug off fault on my part and i make an excuse for why things happen. i do not take on the responsibility for a lot of situations.

As much as i would love to say that today is the end of the excuses, i cant. But i can say that i am going to try and train my mind and my body with productive constructive habits that can form a new way of taking on responsibility.

This is not as much a post for others to read as it is a reminder for myself. I can come back here and see that i actually stated this on my blog. I can try and remind myself that i need to change things.

one more time, down that same road

So there are things that i need to do before the on set of the new year. Number 1 on my list is get Wilco's live album, "Kicking Television". As much as i love the recorded studio albums, there has been nothing like experiencing them live. And i can only imagine that the album does a good job of bring the nuiance of the Wilco live show to everyones ears. Well i said there were things i need to do. but really all there is, is that.

Do you know how annoying commercials can be. I mean come, i really do not want my favorite episode of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" to be interupted by a commercial for an athletes foot cream. But for those of you out there who are not annoyed by commercials i have a site for you. Well this site could actually work for those of you who enjoy commercials, but wish they would not interrupt the "Seven Heaven" marathon. Well lets be boring. Yes in deed.

So, walking down the street you can see all sorts of things. Am i wrong? No i am not. There are very few instances where i am wrong. But i digress. When you walk sometimes you do not notice small things. Either you are in to much of a hurry or you just do not pay attention to things. Well i have been doing a lot of walking recently. i am starting to find walking to be my favorite mode of transportation. I get to go at my own pace. there is not traffic to deal with. i have yet to get road rage while i was walking. I do not get angry at the person walking to slow in front of me. i just adapt my pace to theirs until i can ease on around them. There is a simple elegance in travelling by foot. The world slows down to your pace. I find myself setting my gate to accomadate cracks in the sidewalk that i see paces ahead of me. if i see that one of the rectangles in the sidewalk is cracked in half i try to change my pace so i can fit two steps into every section of sidewalk. I dont know maybe i am weird, but i like it.

so walking is fun, huh kids.

i have been listening to the Silver Jews new album recently. It is awesome. If you are part of my immediate family and reading this right now, i do not know that you would like this album. It might be a little bit out there for you. Much like all the music i listen to. Haha. But i swear the picture on the back cover of the album, "Tanglewood #'s", is of the Tennessee River valley passing by Lookout mountain. You can see the point of the mountain and the river meandering through the city. I do not know this for sure, but if anyone else sees it let me know. The picture was taken by some southern photographer, so the chances are good.

Well well well, the time goes by but where am i

Life has been a huge blur right recently, i have not had a day off in over two weeks. I am to tired to even think about how many days it was realisticly. And i will not have a day off until this saturday. So needless to say my body and my mind are extremely weary.

On top of all the work i have been frequenting the chiroprator three times a week. I have a pretty messed up back right now, but she is helping me out greatly. I recommend everyone with any back pain to go to the chiropractor. My back was so out of line before i started my therapy. now she says my spine is looking really good. And the pain relief has been incredidble. My lowest vertabrae was pinching off the nerve to my legs and causing terrible pain, now the only pain i have is when i sit for long periods of time. That in itself is a pain, because i spend all day standing up as it is.

Well i thought i was going to have something interesting to type about, but i was wrong. So until next time, keep your nose clean.

nothingness or maybe a little somethingness

It is monday, and the day almost slipped by without a post. I really want to try and post on mondays. Monday is the only day i seem to have to myself. although today was different. I have been in some pretty bad pain for the lst half of the week. My back has been giving me a lot of problems. I went and visited the chiropractor today. All she did was took xrays and tommorow she will do the first adjustment. hopefully this will help. But enough about my back.

I was just over at Davids website and i saw this great ad. I have never heard of the beer, but it was awesome commercial . My favorite part is where they are trying to get over the fence. watch that and also check out some of the other stuff on davids site. Hopefully soon he will be putting some of his own ads up for us all to see, that would be sweet.

Well i really dont have much to say as usual. so i will stop here.

Rain Rain

It is Monday and i have a day off, Every monday i have a day off. Mondays are dedicated to laundry, and cleaning. I go to my wonderfull parents house and load a couple of loads of laundry, and catch up on all the worthless tv watching that i missed through out the week. I had plans to go climbing today, but when i woke up at eight to go, it was raining. well i guess i will have to squeeze it into my allready packed schedule.

So i started working at Sticky Fingers again this weekend. I only worked friday and saturday night, but it was rough. Friday i worked a 16 hour day, i put up siding for ten hours and then i cooked for six. Then saturday morning i woke up and went climbing. Climbing is one of my favortie ways to wake up, there is nothing more relaxing then sitting under a rock sipping on your coffee and watching the world wake up, then totally dominating the rock. I am making some pretty big strides in my climbing abilities, i have started doing sport leading. Hopefully with some of my debt dwindelling i can start to afford some more gear and in the near future start doing some trad leads .
But until then i am going to have to stick to honing my climbing skills with some top roped routes and some sport routes. i never thought that i could get sucked into climbing so much, but i am so glad to have a hobby again. It just feels good to get out and be active again.

Well have a good week. and i will hopefully start blogging again more often. The blogs will probably not be nearly the same calibur of my early posts, but my life is changing and i am not nearly as interesting as i used to be. Before i leave i just saw this on tv. wow There will be a live webcast on october 8. It looks incredible they are flying a gauntlet and doing some amazing acrobatics.
