I am currently packing all my belongings up. i am moving to Fortwood this weekend, with Will Cote. i have never really had to move all of my belongings at once. the furthest i have ever moved was from my parents house in Lookout Valley to Covenant College. And that was a short lived move, only one sad semester. I never knew how much wortless junk i have gathered over the years. One never knows how much crap they pile in their life until it is time to deal with the clutter. Believe me it is not easy to sort. i have art projects from elementary school, that should give you an idea of what kind of crap i am coming across. It is amazing to me.
So i decided i was going to save myself some money and be a grease monkey for a day. i set out this morning with a simple task, replacing my brake rotors and pads. This is eady enough to do. i thought the only problems i was going to run into was a little greese and the extreme heat. Little did my naive little brain know! everything came off well, or as well as it could. I had to spend 50 bucks to buy some of the tools i was going to need. But that was expected. The unexpected part came when i was trying to fit the new rotor on. The hole pattern did not match up right, i needed bigger rotors. That was not to bad, i just figured the guys at AutoZone had entered the numbers in the computer wrong. Well i took my second trip out to Rossville blvd only to find out that they had entered the numbers in correctly. The only explanation they could come up with was the front end had been replaced on the car. I took that as a resonable explanation and i went on my way with my new rotors. All was well on the drive home, i was in the air conditioned crown vic and was ready to roll again. Well i got home smoked a cigarette, and felt like i was un stoppable, until i put the rotor on and realized it was wrong as well. This time the hole pattern lined up perfectly, but the boot did not fit. The diameter of the whole rotor was about a half inch to large. so now i am at square one, the only place to go to fix this problem is closed. The fun part is that there hours are the same as mine, so i can not really go during work. So if anyone can messure rotors and determine the front in they fit on, then let me know. Allright so there it is, the moral of the story is, that i will fix anyones car anytime. I think i should open up a shop.
For the last couple of weeks i have been trying to find a house to rent in St. Elmo. Well Mostly my soon to be roomate Will has been doing the searching, my work schedule does not allow the movement i need to search for a house. We want a place in St. Elmo, for the affordability and the centrality(of friends and work). But every place we have looked so far has closed the door on us almost immediately. This is absolutely the worst time of year to be looking for a rental property. It seems that every other person in their early twenties is looking for the same thing Will and I are searching for. Centrality and cheapness. So if anyone knows of anything let me know before you go opening your mouths to college students.
Other the the house hunt things have been extra busy all summer. The three houses we started building in late spring are still being worked on. The first one has been finished, the family has moved in and we are doing the small little finishing touches. These touches are just small details like doors needing to be tweaked and what not. The second house is about ready for sheetrock. The electricians plumbers and various other sub-contractors have been in and out. The framing inspection has passed and things are moving along. i am sure the homeowners do not see it like i do. They want things to be finished yesterday and they want them to be changed tommorow. i did not work much on the framing side of either of those houses, i did work on the foundation and finishing of the 1st house and some roof framing on the second house. Now the third house has been my baby.
This house is the first house i have been foreman on. i was given freedom to run my framing crew how i saw fit. Things moved along very nicely on this house, and i am slightly proud of myself for my progress. The roof framing happend last week and it is completed except for some small details. Hopefully the roofers can shingle the house on Thursday?. We need that house to get dry, with all the random rain that Chattanooga has been getting recently it has kept the floor kind of wet.
That Is Me Sitting On The Ridge Of The House
Well enough with boring you all with work. i will let you go now.
