So i am here once again to spout of my musings of life liberty and the swing of my hammer. Only in a great country like America could i swing my hammer all day while thinking about bald eagles and the amber waves of grain. I think other countries have mind control machines that stop their carpenters from thinking such nonsense. But seriously folks, what is the deal with this weather. First it rains then its nice, and before you know it there is no milk or bread at the grocery store. what is with that? No seriously can someone tell me what is up. i am really confused.
On a lighter note, i fell in love with an album this week. It is one of those albums that i have had for a while, listened to plenty, but never gave it much merit. Dont get me wrong i have always enjoyed it, but it was always standing in a pretty long shadow cast by another album. The album i am speaking of is "Gold" by Ryan Adams. i still think "Heartbreaker" is a far better album on a whole, but "Gold" really struck a chord with me this week. It might have been the paint fumes, but it might also have been the music itself. I like it. Chris and i have had many conversations on how "Heartbreaker" is far superior, but "Gold" just went up a few notches in my book. Oh and i really need to get "Live Rust" by Neil Young. This album makes it so obvious that jeff Tweedy is a huge neil Young fan. And who could blame him. Neil Young is incredible. Tweedy practically bows down to Neil Young in "A Ghost is Born". Those raunchy, dirty, beautiful guitar licks. Wow both of those two slay me. I would love to see a collaboration between the two of them. i think i would not be able to walk for weeks after that.
Man i really love music, how could you not. I have been called a music snob so many times this week it is not even funny. John Totten, am i a music snob? No i do not think so. I am just a nieve music fan who wishes he couls do eveything that all his many idols can do. I also listened to another classic piece. "In Advance" from the urban Achievers. Chris Marr you are a freaking genius. I think this album actually spoke to me today. Jackson loved it too on his first listen. It realy made me hungry for a sandwich. It really took me back to the good ol' days of sitting at the Littlejohns. what a life we lived back then.
So all in all this is pretty much all i have to offer tonight. i feel for all of you who are taking exams this week. I am glad i am not in your shoes. So to all of you, have a lovely evening and please dont ever call me Alfred, that is not my name
